Anyone know how to figure a weight of a bream using the length and girth? What I have is a 12" by 12" fish. Actually I have 4 cookie cut fish of the same measurements anywhere from 12" to 12 1/4". by the same.

Re: HELP

Howdy, Peter.

I have caught a few 12" bluegills and a couple of 12" shellcrackers in my time. They all weighed 1lb. 3oz. to 1lb. 5oz.

They were very strong fish! I'll bet you had a ball catching yours.

Congratulations! :)

Re: HELP

Thanks, I guessed about that but i was not sure as we could not find my small scale and my big one would not weigh something that small.

Re: HELP

Borrowed one today and decided to weigh the biggest today. It was a little shorter than the others but the same girth and weighed in at 2.0# I am guessing I have nothing under 1 1/4 pounds and several 2# and better. I don't think bream fishing gets much better than that.

Re: HELP

Howdy, Peter.

I agree. Bluegill, etc. don't get much bigger than that and dang few fish fight as hard per pound as a bluegill. :)
