help, tilt trim stoped working?

it worked fine the other day. i did some cleaning under the housing and around the motor wiping down. now when i push the button nothing happens no noise or movment the motor is almost in the full down postion the gadge reads down the motor is a dt 140 14002507528 shifter is na12s button is on the end of shifter. any one know any easy tests to check this

Did you get your tilt trim problem fixed? The same thing happen to me today. I was out fishing today using my 8hp Yamaha kicker motor and the trim/tilt worked great. We I got back to camp this evening and I cleaned up the boat and was going to flush the motor but I couldn't get the tilt to move at all! On my kicker I have a switch at the motor and at the remote control box up by the steering wheel. Neather switch will work... I'm thinking it must be an in-line fuse but I can't locate one. I don't have the manual with me so stuck. If anyone out there has any thoughts on how to fix this problem please let me know.

i did not get any helpful info yet, i aslo looked for a fuse blown but could not find one

If the motor's not even running when you activate the switch/es it's obviously an electrical problem. Do your other electronics still work?
If it worked before you cleaned it up, maybe you knocked a wire loose on the motor or a connector pulled off. Even if everything looks OK, wiggle the connections to make sure they're tight and making good contact.

i looked at all the wires that i could find and didnt find any thing that seemed loose all other systems are working fine, i guess i will have to do somemore wiggling
