Hello again,
as I stated earlier im a boating newbie and just purchased my first boat ever it's a 1982 alumacraft 1670 series and it came with a 18 hp 1962 evinrude/15036a o/b :D
But although I've had it out a few times and everything works just fine (except it's kinda slow although every now and then the motor jumps and wants to go faster)
I would like for it to look waaaay better I have lots of ideas but very little knowledge and im not the most technical or super skilled mechanically either ( but im a fast learner so the easier the better).
I would like to start restoring or modifying boats seeing as im a disabled veteran with plenty of time but not much money so anything to make each phase cheapest (with good quality) would help also. Well with that being said I will post some pics of the new purchase and would love to hear ideas and suggestions oh yea I basically will be using this boat for fishing
Well appears I can't upload pics with my cell so when I get to my pc I will though

Welcome to Iboats and we look forward to seeing pictures!

those 18's were good old motors. If it's jumping sounds like you may be dropping a cylinder

Not an effort to send anyone away but also go look at tinboats.net Those guys do a lot of modified V jon boats and from looking I know there are many pictures to look at of what others have done for ideas.

From what I can tell the ribs in that hull are fairly close together so you should be able to fit some 1/2" ply as a decking to walk around on. There are also a number of ways you can add fold down fishing seats w/o a lot of work.

Closeout Wise Two Tone Folding Clam Seats - iboats

These are very nice seats for the money. They are actually Tempress shells/bases with Wise covers and both Lund and Alumacraft have been using these basic seats for years in many models.
