Well I finally got my head gasket replaced and tried to follow the book to the letter
Then discovered that my book has 2 different sections on inline engine’s
One section is on GM inline the other on Mercruiser inline
I guess the difference is the GM is all cast iron and the Mercruiser is all aluminum
Please correct me if im wrong.
Well mine is all cast iron (ser #A338715)
Now, the problem is I already torqued my head bolt’s to 130 ft.lbs.
Then found the other spec. of 90 ft.lbs.
And I think I am supposed to be 90 ft.lbs
Can you help me determine what is the correct torque and will this cause me any problems
I have not started the engine yet.
Thanx in advance
Kev

You are correct. Should have torqued to 93 foot pounds.
