Missed out on a perfect day at the lake, sunny, 90* low winds.

I should have started the boat at home first but just had it out 2 weeks ago and it ran great. In short, the engine cranks but wont fire at all. The entire gauge cluster is also not functioning. Not the fuel gauge, not the speedo, not temp gauge, none of them. The kill switch is in ON position and I tap spliced the kill switch wires just to rule it out. Where should I start looking to solve this problem? There seems to be some commonality in the cause.

A dvm will help your troubleshooting immensely

Starr at the battery and work your way through the system until the issue is known. Repair accordingly

start by lifting the flame arrester off and have someone operate the throttle to see if it squirts fuel (guessing your motor is carbed).

next pull a plug lead put an old plug in it ( or pull a plug out of the motor) and rest it on a metal part of the motor , have a helper crank the motor over to see if you have spark.

if you have fuel and spark , advance the throttle to full and crank it over """ its probably flooded "".

I found the problem, but have no idea how it happened. Some how the wire for ignition came off the ignition switch. Battery, accessory and starter are still connected. Im baffled, but happy its an easy fix
