Gimbal bearing replacement question

My old gimbal bearing is 2.5 cm wide at the base , 3 cm at the center
My question ... is the new non greasable gimbal bearing 3 cm at the base and also the center ?

I'd figure the extra 1/2 cm is for extra grease in the bearing body..... or am I wrong ?

my fingernail has no room at the back between new gimbal and the back housing flange....
