As I was looking at replacing my gimbal bearing in my alpha one, I noticed a rubber "washer/ring" behind it. I'm using a rear axle bearing puller and It catches on this. I'm sure it's replacable but what is it?? and what does it do??..and is it easy to replaced if I damage it??

Thanks, Steve

Its a seal. You will damage it. They are $20. Easy to replace.

Thanks, when I install the new one, do I need to do anything special or just insert it and then held in place by the gimbal bearing??

Isn't even a seal it's a shield. Just to keep grease in and out of your bilge or crap from your bilge out of your bearing.
