Hi all,
I've been chasing a res. drive oil low alarm around the block a few times...

So after cleaning, checking connections, etc etc.. I finally just bought a new bottle, with a new sensors and of course it came all put together.

The conclusion I'm at now is that the computer is telling me the incorrect code. ?

With the old bottle and sensor in place I would get a constant alarm for a while, and then getting up on plane it would seem to go away.

I have vessel view mobile, the entire time it would be showing drive oil low, with plenty of water pressure, water temp was fine, and oil pressure was also fine. In VVM, I am not referencing analog at all in this post.

I give up and replace the bottle/sensor.

The alarm comes back, instantly, but then this time goes away after 20 or so seconds.. but then 30 or so seconds it comes back again!!

I load up VVM and sure enough, this is what shows up.

Just double checking.

If I unplug these wires, the alarm SHOULD NOT sound - correct?

The lube bottle has been full 100% of the time that this has been on going.

Also this is a constant alarm. Not 1 beep every 2 mins or whatever the other one is. This is a blaring, loud, constant beep.

And then, like magic, at some random time between 20 seconds and 5 mins, it just goes away.

This was the only fault showing in VVM the last time I had it running. Going to run it today and see what happens. However this has completely stumped me aside from the fact that maybe the computer is reporting the wrong fault? Not sure. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Correct, with the wires disconnected from the bottle the alarm should not sound. Seeing as the bottle/switch is new that can be ruled out as a culprit

The switch in the bottle completes the audio warning system circuit to ground when the lube level drops too far. My guess is a chaffed wire between the bottle and ecm on the tan/blue wire shorting to ground
