I have a 1961 18 foot wooden lapstrake grady white that I am restoring.

I would love to roll it over if I could think of some safe easy way to do it with out harming the boat.

any suggestions?

Ralph, I would think that you and three friends could lift and roll that beast.

Another thought is to lay out some padding (foam) to protect the gunwales and roll it. You will likely need at least one assistant for that.

Try a look at how this guy rolled a 40'er.http://home.att.net/~schmidttl/
What an amazing project and it survived THREE hurricanes! Persistent and great quality work.

I've tried to roll it over but there were no stringers and transom in it. And it cracked to much to go further. But normally they attach a rope at the bow-eye and then lift it up and turn it over...
