This might not be a big deal for a lot of people, but it was to me.<br />A friend sent me this url and I found my birthday and zip code on it.<br />You can pay a fee and get any person's address also and possibly phone #'s or anything.<br />One good thing about it is that you can have your info removed if it is on there.<br />Mine was and once I found it I had it removed.<br />You can go to info <br />If you find your info there, click on FAQ and then privacy.<br />Then click on opt-out<br />Put in the info just like they had it listed and click remove<br />Go back in a little bit to make sure it was deleted.<br />Just thought you people might be interested in knowing that it got there somehow.

Big Brother is watching and he isn't real clever. A friend has a house in Florida, the local Florida tax accessor's web site includes copies of the purchase paperwork with his social security number, name, address, date of birth, etc. Talk about identity theft, how easy does it get.

HOly Crap!!... that is kind of scary. The little girl that cuts my hair told me she was scammed b/c someone used her DOB,name, SS # and opened a cell phone account onto her name. DIdnt even have to show any ID as it was opened on the internet. Only way she found out about it was that it showed up on a credit hx she had run for something else. Good thing is that this guy was so stupid he used it to to call his mother and when police called she reported that it was her son's phone number. HAHA GOTCHA!!! <br />anyway, thanks SBN.. I just removed mine as well.

Scarier still when you go and request they remove your B-Day you then tell them hey you found a real person and I don't like it. Which gives them your IP# and all sorts of ways to track you further. Now even though I don't like how easy it is to find my personal info so far I saw nothing that is not a matter of public record and would be easy enough to find out w/o this website. What I think is going on here is they are trying to get you to come in and delete your name and such then they know they have someone that has a computer that they can send a bunch of spam to or worse they know you are real and active online and they then do nasty things to get more info for ID theft. There are two sides to every coin and many motives for folks doing what they do. Think about it and perhaps you will as I did not even look to see if mine was there.

How long does it take to scan and spit back whether your address is listed?

Re: Gathering ID's

All I know is that I went there and typed in my first and last name. No middle name or initial. It came up with several names like mine and on about the third page or so I found my name with DOB and my zip code.<br />I deleted it and it was not on there anymore.<br />Thats all I know.

Big article in local paper today. Local car dealer scamed customers out of 5 million using thier ID to secure false car loans for cars they never bought. Ruined the credit of 240 people and counting. Side note, this dealership has been around for 30 years. Father passed it on to 31 year old son and this is what he does.---Pity. Now looking at possible 100 year sentence! <br /><br />----------<br />Flathead
