I have an aluminum tank I bought for my pontoon and it has a fitting for a vent and I want to put one in. Should I just put the vent at the hole or run it a ways from the tank for some reason? What do you suggest I buy for a vent piece. I saw some stainless ones tonight with just what looks like a 3/16" hole on the side of it and a barbed fitting to run to the tank.

Any ideas or prior knowledge?

Thanks... The vent should be at least a foot above the tank or you may end up with a deck full of gas when you fill the tank to the top. Use a 5/8" fuel vent hose and vent available through any dealer or places like West Marine. They may not have those on hand, but they can sure be ordered.
