I would like to put a television in my detached garage right above my beer fridge for football games. Code dictates that I bury the cable and not run above ground. I don't want the television that bad.

I have seen a product by GE that allows you to use your electrical outlets to hook up a phone called instajack. Is there such a device for cable television?

I am guessing you want something like this or this one or maybe even this one .

Not sure how far your garage is located from where your source would be. Might have to check with the manufacturers to make sure this will work in your application.

Hope that works.

I would think these would be available at your local electronics store (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc).

I actually, agree, ndemge, but didn't want to be the first to say so. Just get some underground coax, and don't bury real deep. Just slice a path with a shovel, tucking in the cable and relaying the sod as you go.

I have a suggestion, forget the beer and football games and got out shopping with your wife till the stores close, then come back cook her dinner, clean the kitchen and bed her...............................................................

Sorry, better idea, run the cable along the fence, hook 110 amps to the door handle of the garage so she cant get in.

Re: Garage Television

Well, mighty fine suggestions.

I have a friend that used the Wavecom. Really worked well, and will be my solution.

Liked the fist in the air approach to code. Just to determine whether you need a building permit you need to be a MENSA member.

Your probably right. Just bury the damn thing. However, forgot to mention that I have to go under a sidwalk. 100 ft cable, 15.00. Splitter and hardware, 20.00. Plus all my time to install. For an extra 30.00 I can plug and play.

As far as removing the source of irritation inside the house....sorry bud, You,re half right. Just left an obsesive relationship. Thank god, still single. Just like being outside. Oh yeah, learned alot today! This forum is awesome!

While the ground is moist, take a knife and cut a slot, tuck the cable in it and go. Not so easy if you have trees (roots) or rocks to deal with. Note, may not want to use wifes favorite knife!

Re: Garage Television

Dump cable, get satellite. About the same cost per month, much better picture quality.

EDIT: Forget it. You would still need to run a cable between the buildings or pony up for a second dish (over priced!).
