Furling jib problem will not turn/rotate.

I have a 30' Yamaha with a furling genoa. When sailing with the genoa out the furler would not turn to roll the sail back up. I lowered the sail and stowed it.The botom part of the fuler attached to the bow will rotate, but not the top end attached to the mast. We sprayed penatrating oil on the top fitting. Any idea how to fix without taking the whole setup down from the mast?

What make and model furler do you have?

I don't think you can fix it properly without taking it down, or going up there, and greasing it properly. It might need stripping down to grease it properly.
