Fuel vapor separator leaking Suzuki 115HP

I have a 2014 DF115 with approximately 36 hours. The overflow from the fuel vapor separator is leaking.
I have taken it apart a half dozen times. If I blow through the fuel inlet the needle seats and I can not blow through it. Flip it over I can blow freely. It seems to be properly seating. I have adjusted the float height more and more.
It seems that there must be something else causing this overflow. Is there anything else in the system that would cause the bowl to fill and overflow that is somehow bypassing the float and needle?
In idle if I hold my thumb over the vent they the fuel is leaking from it builds pressure, seems to anyway on my last reassembly. After it leaked the last time I shut it down and decided to take a break. I’ve been working on this leak for 6 straight hours today. Time to try something different.

I took the fuel pump off and apart. I see why they use the security torx. Didn’t see anything so I put it back together and back on the boat.
Fired it up and the FVS is not leaking. Idk. Turned it off and on a few times and it seems to be ok. I’ll take it to the lake tomorrow and see how she runs.

Still leaking. After unloading the boat it seemed to be ok. After a short ride we beached for a while. During the next ride the leak started back and it continued until I left the lake.
Any advice?

Check the condition of the low pressure fuel pump

Pretty common for a high pressure pump to vent to atmosphere when the low pressure pump is on the way out.

Can't build enough pressure to keep the vent valve shut

How do I check the low pressure pump? Would it be reasonable that the low pressure pump would be bad with only 38 hours in the motor?

Varies from pump to pump. The OE service manual would detail the procedure.

Things like hoses, filters, wiring, etc. age with time, not use

Having only 38 hours on a 10 years old motor tells me the motor sat unused for long periods of time. Not a good thing when it comes to fuel system components

Would take a motor with 1000 hours on it over one that sat most of its life.

Manual doesn’t give pressure testing instructions for the low pressure side. Seems to only focus in the high pressure side.
