I have a 1963 Johnson 40hp outboard motor that ran good until I ran out of gas, then it would not restart after refilling the tank. It sat over night and then when I tried to start it again it fired up for a minute but gas starting coming out of the carbuerator then the motor stalled. I pulled the plugs out and checked them, there was spark, disconnected the fuel line and turned the motor over until it cleaned itself out. Reconnected the spark plugs and it started, ran good until I hooked the fuel hose back in the motor and it started pouring out gas again from the carbuerator. It seems like it keeps flooding itself out. Do you have any suggestions?
