Installing edelbrock 1409 on 1997 Volvo 5.7L GS. Plan is to cut steel fuel feed line before last bend and install something like edelbrock kit 8135, pictured below only using stainless braided lines. Motor has existing water/fuel separater that fed previous Holley carb. Question, does anyone run second filter, above separator, such as in pic or would that be overkill and impede flow and cause starvation? Also do you think the stainless braid lines are necessary or is it a big negative on marine engine to run rubber fuel line?

Re: fuel filter question

That type fuel filter has no place on your engine or boat. The water separating fuel filter is a much better filter. If you want to install another filter, install a 30 micron water separating fuel filter between the engine and the tank. use the filters like in that picture for your tractor, not your boat.
