Having trouble keeping 50 up merc running. Acting like fuel pump but friend replaced diaphragm last year. ( he did not do check valves though) can keep running by squeezing primer bulb. Starts to stall after a couple minutes and then squeeze primer again. I noticed fuel and air bubbles coming out along top of motor just under the Flywheel. Also a little bit along the seam where the motor bolts together. I'm wondering if I'm loosing fuel pressure here and if that is the cause of the bogging down. Just did not want to go through the motion of rebuilding the fuel pump in vain if the whole motor needs to be split and regasketed. It's not a tremendous leak and the previous owner noticed that side of the motor was damp with fuel but it never was in issue for him. Wondering if this is related to my fuel pressure issue.

Could be and what year? Running it with crankcase leak/s can cause cylinder/s to lean out so repair before anymore usage.
