Brand new boat, brand new motor 2023 Mercury 75. Fourth time taking the boat out. We ran around and fished for a few hours, while moving to a new spot running about 4000RPM all of a sudden the boat started beeping loudly. I immediately throttled down, put into neutral and turned ignition off in a sort of panic mode. Started the engine back up and seemed to work from idle to low RPMs. Soon as throttled down it started beeping again. Idled back to the boat ramp and read the manual and did not find an explanation.

It was in the everglades and the spot was a bit weedy. I also noticed the water pressure gauge was low 0-5 on the gauge, the motor was trimmed all the way down and the water pump seemed to have a steady stream. Forgive my ignorance I am trying to give the most information that I can for being a new boater lol. Hopefully you guys can help me out. Thank you!

Welcome
Found your issue in another forum
Wow! This is now fixed and after going through all of this...issue was so simple.
I went in to another Marina to buy a new impeller. The place said to try one more thing before I spend the time and money. Can't believe it was this simple and sorry if this is a huge oversight on my part....but all I had to do was take the tube off of the "pee hole" and blew air through it and it has ran perfectly ever since. HE said that Mercs always pull sand and stuff and the tube from the intake to the "pee hole" gets partially clogged. I guess this is why I only got the alarm at low RPM....at high RPM the water had enough force to plow around the clog???? Thanks for all the help. I am happy it was such a easy fix this time.

Hi. There is a water strainer on the fuel pump cooling fitting. On top of the engine. May be blocked.

Sounds like weeds or other debris is clogging your water intake and causing an overheat at speed.
