I posted a question regarding a 5HP Yamaha a few minutes ago, and when I click on the topic, I see someone else's message.
I wonder if I did this, or is it a problem on the message board?
-------------------------
I'll repeat my posting here:

I've searched this topic and followed the links to find my model-year info, but my numbers don't make sense. Is it 1984 or 1985 or ?
Can someone clarify this?
I need to know year, and proper fuel mix.

Yamaha 5 HP
Model - 5SK
Serial - 6E3 S 139097
Here's a photo...

Not sure of the year, but am posative of the fuel mixture. 50:1, or 3oz per gallon, TC-W3 oil and 87octane. 3oz per gallon is a tad rich on the oil by abt .2oz per gallon, but best to be too rich than too lean. Besides, it's waaaay easier to mix up a batch at the station.

The year I think is 1990, but would double-check that.

You didn't do it, Reg.

I got the same post about batteries a couple of times, but it seems to have fixed itself.

There were no replies, so I will delete it and leave this one up.

Good luck. :)

Thanks very much for both replies. :)
Now I can get some fresh fuel in the tank and see if it will idle. (The man I bought it from could start it, but it was smoking a lot, and would not idle.)
I dumped the old fuel and cleaned the tank, so I'll not have to wonder about that.
Still need to know the year, but that info will come, I'm sure.
