alpha Gen II housing that was taking on a lot of water. Suspected of using regular bottom paint instead of outdrive paint over the years. What do you think?

Living in NW Florida and having a boat for 65 years, I learned to never keep an I/O stored wet in salt water. An inboard is a different story.

Ayuh,...... I've got an Alpha 1 transom assembly that lived on a boat with twins, that was moored in I believe Conn., has that sorta problem,.....

Where some sand/ crud or whatever held water against the housing, it rotted through,....

There is a marina somewhere in Nova Scotia that has under ground power cables. At a OMC seminar they showed us a picture of a drive completely eaten off at the water line.
