since I can't fish Sun. morning, football ain't
too bad a substitute. it's a crazy/fun season so
far, and was wondering who you think will get the
ring this year???
I'm a Buffalo Bills fan  , but they are
probably a year away from seriously contending,
or maybe not the way things are going out there.
missinfishin
M.Y.

Awww, man! That's rough. Can't fish on Sunday mornings. :(

Why not?

The way the Cowpansies are playing this year I don't much care. Well, Emmitt always tries, but he really needs an offensive line. Larry Allen is usually an offensive line all by himself, but he has owies this year.

What about (HEEE HEEE HEE!) the Bengals? :D :D

On second thought, go fishing.

i much rather fish that watch football. i know i'm not normal (or so my wife says, in a thankful tone), but i don't make a point to watch any sports on tv. but i'm not big on tv period. and i hate it that my fav radio stn devotes sunday to nascar instead of country tunes. :(
i do like most all sports, just have 'limited' time so the tv lost. i'd rather be outside, since i don't have enuff time for that either. ;)

I coulndn't care less for pro ball either. But I'd much rather watch the Cornhuskers whup some butt than go fishing. For those of you following the once-great Huskers, I've gotten in alot more fishing this season :(

Did I mention that my monk's robe is Black and Yellow....I was born and will die a Steelers man.

I've seen all of their super bowls....I was young but I remember watching them with my grandfather....Frank O'harris, Terry Bradshaw, Rocky Bliar, Lynn swan, John Stalworth and the Steel curtain (who I never get the names right).

Me and you, JB....we have crossed swords in the past....Cowboys and the Steelers....They were a rivalry to be sure.

And them Dangded Bengals  ....We could win every game 42-0 and the Bengals could have lost every game of the year....And if we played them it would be Bengals 42, Steelers 0 every time.

They are a pain in my butt....along with Them NE Patroits.

I have Mixed feelings about the whole Cordell Steawt thing....As "Slash" he was deadly....Nobody new what was next and I love football thats played like that. :)

Its boreing to watch them run up the middle every down and throw on third, only to give it up on downs just to watch the other team do the same thing....Again and again through the whole game.

Then Cower got this idea in his head that cordell should become a pocket quarterback....where he stunk....BAD.

I am not a football coach, But if it's not broke....don't fix it. ;)

Maddox is a pocket quarterback....And he's doing a great job there....I wont ask him to run....kinda makes me rool my eyes  when I see a QB slide into home plate....But I miss The fun, whats next kinda football that they had with "slash" at the helm.

I like Bret Farve....He's got guts.

Does every QB that Tampa Bay (team #2) has have to go to another team to become good?

We're going....Who's coming along for the sad ride home? :D

Steelerwood.

Let's see...fishing vs. pro football. I'd rather catch Sea Robins and Needlefish than watch pro football. If we are going to talk sports then lets talk about something interesting...University of Kentucky basketball :D

Re: football vs. fishin'

you got something there-relentless.
i was thinking, i haven't been truly pulled to the tv screen since 1972, except when the Braves were in the Series... let me tell you all a story. you will cry in your popcorn.
my wife told her little students that her husband would take the winner fishing, said winner having the most 'points' at the end of the year...(this was a few yrs ago)
so i took the little 10yr old out fishin, on my bud's brand new 20'bassboat and we hadda great time.
i got back to his house(in the upper-middle burb), and his dad comes out with his braves ballcap on, and offers me 2 tickets to the next game.- this was during the winning yrs.
-i told him no thanx, i don't like being in a crowd like turner field. he looked at me like i was a martian, then looked at his wife, who looked at me like i was richard simmons in big bird costume or something. of course my wife just smiled like i was speaking an unknown language...

just thought i wouldn't waste $$$ on doing something for them that i would've paid them for the priviledge of anyway, if you know what i mean. that boy caught lots of fish, and acted like he'd been to disney world
(we didn't slay'em but i made sure we caught plenty, even tho they might be too small to keep)

Uh oh. Relentless has done it now.

A brother grad from NC State, both sisters and other bro. from UNC and self spent time at Duke.

There were months that we didn't speak, and we were a close family.

Those of us that survive now call ourselves "Triangle" fans.

Teams not from The Triangle are allowed to win a bit now and then only to keep the rest of the world from getting bored. :D

What is "basketball"? Is that one of those games played with a round ball? I've heard of those. Also know they don't bounce well on Lambeau Field.

Dad said "we don't do round ball sports", so we did dirt bikes, boats, and FOOTBALL. Go Pack.!!

They ain't been pretty lately, but they been winnin.

Fishing, no Packers, No fishing, no Packers. I guess it's a toss up. I love fishing. The like watching the Packers especially while Farve is there because they always have a chance. Just sometimes, they make me so frustrated that it is not fun anymore. As for the ring, it probably won't be the Packers. Yes, they have a good record, but people are looking past the fact that they barely won a lot of those games. Yes, they are getting a lot of starters back from injury, but they almost always seem to mess something up. Every year I look forward to them playing and hopefully beating the Vikings (If only they could win in Minnesota) and the Cowboys. Speaking of the cowboys, how come Micheal Irvin is not in jail. Man another case of you have money and fame, you don't go to the pokey. If I did what he did, they would throw away the key.
Then again, I can have my cake and eat it too. Tape the game, go fishing, then watch the game. If only I had more time.
