Any opinions on the flush kits that attach to the rear of motor so you can flush the motor while the boat is docked. I have a 5.0 Merc alpha One Gen 2 that will be kept in salt water. The manifolds were new last season. Also any opinions on the additive Salt Away? Thank You, RR

Re: Flush kit

Definatly use a flusher.Never used Salt Away.
The worst thing is not flushing.Or draining and letting it set without any fluids in it.
Salt water makes it start to rust, fresh water will too.Just not as bad.But air will make it rust faster.
So leave it with fresh water in it.
Better yet.Add a closed cooling system. One that includes the manifolds.J
