I would have to aggree with you. I catfish all the time and I would have to say that, that would be the largest channel cat I have heard of in a while. I know blue cat get some size to them and of course the ol flathead/shovelhead, but that is a good size channel cat.
Whoaaaaa!!!, First you said "channel cat" and now it's a flathead/shovelhead. Make up your mind. That size flathead is not uncommon in my part of the country. I catch that size all the time here at home. I will dig up some pics and post them here.
I thought it was "fishy" (hehe) when it was a Channel Cat, since the WORLD record Channel is 58 lbs. I just figured it was a hog Blue at first... big ones are easily mistaken from what I've heard. ANY Catfish over 30 is a impressive catch. My biggest kitty to date is only 23 <br /><br />I also catch & release anything over 10 lbs. I always figured to let someone else have the fun of dragging in the hawg too. I enjoy FISHING,as far as eating, they SELL fish in the store
