Fishing near Chesapeake Bay

I am going fishing with a friend that lives near the Chesapeake Bay, we are planning to go fishing there. I was curious to know how the fishing is up there at this time of year, also currently what the weather is like this time of year. I am planning on flying in next Thursday evening and fishing all weekend then fly back on Sunday evening. If anyone has fished this area lately I would appreciate any info that would help! Thanks in advance!

Shane you have to really narrow it down somewhat the Chesapeake is HUGE and where you fish can really change.<br /><br />Stripers, blues, bass, flounder, etc can all be had depending on where you are.<br /><br />Most if not all of the chesapeake is tidal so you have to watch your depth<br /><br />tomotolord

Thanks tomotolord,<br />I wish I could be more specific, the sad part is all I know is......where I am flying into. I am going with my brother-in-law, it's an old Navy buddy of his. So all I know is he is picking us up from the airport, we are going to his 30ft boat and I am suppose to be fishing and having fun all weekend. I haven't done any research on the chesapeake to even know how big it is or what it is like. Thanks for the heads up!

I'll bet if he has a 30' foot boat on the chesapeake he'll know how to get you into some fish. You'll love the chesapeake, right by the mouth it almost feels like blue water!

Well if you are flying into norfolk then you probably will be hitting the bridges! Lots of stripers and keep your eyes out for the seagulls - thats where the blues are..<br /><br />Maybe you will see one of the carriers or other big ships going by..<br /><br />Plus the soft shell crabs are in - it dont get better then that...<br /><br />tomatolord
