"One thing is certain. That coyote is on a total mouse diet now," Chandler said. "I doubt it will ever go after another frog."

GEEZ, and I like fishing with rubber mice :D

Wow, that is really crazy. I guess the coyotes here in WI like frogs.

Thanks for sharing.

Coyotes eat anything, watermelon farmers hate them, cause they go through a field taking one bite out of each watermelon and of course, eating house cats and lap dogs isn't making them very popular either. I had one try to eat me once also, but thats a long story!

RicMic: Did you have your dog on your lap while eating watermelon with your cat? Would love to hear your story (maybe in a new thread in "dock side chats")

No, it involves squeeking like a mouse and a bear and a whole pack of coyotes, told you it was a LONG story!

fish hooks thru dogs mouth/nose are terrible- I was lucky to have a buddy who was a copy machine service tech who whipped out the ultimate tool kit- the barb was pushed thru and easy to clip the end off and remove- we were lucky.

Re: Fishing for coyotes

I dont think tournament coyote fishing will catch on.trying to put them in the livewell would be tricky and culling would be too.not to mention the whole weighing and releasing thing, and I dont think theyed like to be raised in the air like they show off the big bass either!!dont try to lip one unless you regularly do that w bluefish, king mackeral.barracuda etc.Im not that tough!!!Kudos on the release, most guys would have cut the line or used a fishbat if they had one.im currently hunting them here as they are hurting turkey and other wildlife populations.their intelligence is astounding!i watched one look both ways before crossing a road.I understand wanting a lure back,i dove in the lake one day to retreive a hung 4 lb bass on a new bait. 10 ft deep got the bass and the lure back!it was a hot day anyway!!
