I've just watched a news article on TV3 (NZ TV channel) claiming that studies have shown reef fish at the Barrier Reef (Australia) call their young back to the reef as they grow.

It showed evidence to prove this and furthermore they think there's many more messages there as well. They recorded and played back sounds produced by the fishes swim bladder. It sounded a bit like trumpets playing!

Its well documented that vibrations play a large part under the water so why not sounds. Whales and dolphins have been doing it for eons.

I know certain props on specific boats can attract/repel fish, likewise specific thickness lines will vibrate and attract/repel fish.

This will make for interesting follow up as they progress I think.

Ross
