Well I have finally did the unspeakable bought a boat project. I have bought car projects hot tub projects so why not a boat all are fun things to own right. Well here is a few things about it 1984 17 ft cheetah runabout, cost $500.00, Has a solid deck and from what i can see in the ski storage are solid, the jell coat a few nicks, motor needs exhaust baffles changed, Motor starts and runs, new carpet, new control cable, and the worst that i can see is the upholstery defiantly needs replacing. I also broke the cardinal rule of buying a boat didn't give it a water test. We will see if that comes back to haunt me but i figured 500.00 the trailer was worth 200 and the out-drive may get my 500 back if it didn't work out. I am waiting on it to be delivered Saturday morning spend the day with her and getting to know her.

Will post some pics as i get things together and i am sure i will have lots of question and will thank you all for any help you give me.

Here is to a great adventure and sailing off into the sunset or at least motoring off into the sunset

hello to all

Scott

Scott it looks like you've found one of those true bargins that are out there. Even if you put another $500-1000 into it should be a fun boat! And again welcome aboard!
