I just purchased a 1984 Cobalt 19'DV, at least that is what the US Coast Guard tag says next to the Drivers seat . The problem I am having is I can not locate any info on this boat the "DV" I can not find that anywhere . I want to purchase a Repair manual and a Owners book for this boat . Is There another label somewhere on the boat where I can get the Info to order these books. And if so where Should I be looking for it ?
Thank you for any help

You won't find an owner's manuel for the boat itself. But you shouldn't have any problem finding a repair manuel for whatever it's powered by. I'm assuming it's a Merc?

hugh g is right. Does the boat have a deep V hull? If so I'm guessing that's the DV.

The "DV" designates a specific hull design that would not affect the documentation in question.

The repair manual would be specific to the motor, not the hull.
Owner's manuals are typically generic, boiler plate type documents.

It has a 5.7 ,( I believe its a Chevy Motor ) and the Out Board part is a OMC that is all I have been able to figure out at this point .

I am thinking you may be right on the DV part , after looking at different boats on line this boat is pretty deep .

We list a 1984 Cobalt DV
Only its an 18ftr... maybe a marketing ploy. 0.83 of a foot is alot of margin to 'stretch'it to 19ft though...

At 18ft 2in, I'd describe it as an 18ftr....

I think I would agree 2 inches does not make a foot lol . we held a tape next to the boat eyed up the front and back and we got like 8foot 11 inches but alot of that was eye balling the ends of the boat so we could be off a few inches.

Boats are measured at the water line (displacement) although a good percentage of manufacturers advertise “overall length”.
