I have a 48 SPL that bought used. It accelerates great on Neutral, but on Forward it dies as it is accelerated to full throttle. It had a tune-up done and I changed the fuel filter/H2O separator. Starts up great. Any suggestions???? kids wanna go fishin'

Did it sit for a while before you bought it? If so, you may need to clean the carbs out as they may be gummed up with old fuel. That means taking them apart to clean them. Spraying anything like carb cleaner into the throats is a no-no. Do not rev it too high in neutral. Just above idle is OK. Replace the primer bulb as suggested and see how it goes. What year Motor are we talkin'?

I had the motor tuned-up two weeks ago. The motor is a '96 & it is my understanding that, yup, the boat was sitting for a while. Thanks for the suggestions. I will try as noted this W/E.
