Does your boat have sonar (fish finder)? If it does try drifting creek channels, points, and submerged humps.

Don't worry about trying to stay in one place, the cats will track your bait down if they're hungry. You'll cover more water by drifting too.

I'd try the 10-15' deep water first, if that doesn't work you can try shallower or deeper.

Drop your baits straight down until they hit bottom and reel up the slack, as you drift your sinker will bounce accross the bottom stirring up mud which will attract feeding fish. If you start getting snagged too much reel your line up one or 2 cranks of the reel.

Be sure to turn your navigation lights on 1/2 hour before dark and watch out for other boaters.

Relax, have fun, and let us know if you catch anything.

I do have a fish finder, although old and cheap, it works. Its an eagle and other than reading depth I have no idea what I'm looking at. Thanks for the tip I atleast have a starting point now
