I have a 1972 707HE Chrysler outboard. I took it out last weekend and it ran great. I was able to go from stop to full throttle and it would put me in my seat. We took the boat out this weekend and the boat started to take off and would move us along at lower rpms but when I gave it the gas the engine reved up but there was no acceleration. I couldn't get the boat to go any faster. I checked the propeller and the sheer pin is ok. Motor is running great. Any ideas?

Problem solved. I put the engine in gear and tried to turn the prop. I was able to cause the prop to slip on the hub. Looks like I need to find a place to re-hub the prop.

Re-Hubbing those older model props may prove to be difficult. As I understand it, these props are no longer made and hubs for them are no longer available.

Your options are to find a large prop shop that may have some hubs left in its stock or buy another used prop on ebay.
