Engine/drive compatibility DP-sm

Hi everyone! New to this forum. Learned a ton already!

Question:

Will VP 5.0 OSi-e motors couple up and work with DP-sm drives? I know there are some variations on the transom assemblies but…

if I buy a DP-sm drive with its transom assembly (from a totaled boat) will it work with my motor? It’s coming off a boat with 5.0 GL. My boat has 5.0 Osi-e. Will it work? What do I need to be aware of? Is it plug and play or are there challenges that I need to consider?

Your replacing everything behind the motor, yes it will work
The only thing which can pose an issue is the drive ratio but most likely it will be fine

Thank you! I was thinking that was the case but needed to be sure before pulling the trigger on the donor boat.
