Ebbtide... still in business???

I took my Ebbtide to a fiberglass shop for minor gelcoat repair. The shop said they attempted to call Ebbtide to help match the gelcoat color but no one answered the phone. I checked the website and the boat catalogs listed are from 2014. There's even a link for Chinese/English language websites - kind of supporting the rumor that Ebbtide was acquired by a Chinese company . iBoats lists 2018 Ebbtide info but refers to 2013 reviews. My dealer stopped carrying Ebbtide years ago and isn't sure. Kind of odd. Love my Ebbtide and was thinking of upsizing but now not sure... Anyone know what the story is on Ebbtide?

I checked on the web and found much the same as you. Their web site has 2013 boats and you can look at the 2014 line up. I found this on the IBoats web site, same question as you and no real information.

I just went to Ebbtide's site, and it doesn't look good. Their last catalogue is 2014. The link below is to Spectrum Gelcoat's color catalogue. Pages 85-87 will have you color. Non-stock colors are pricey. If you're lucky they have your color in a quart, which is less sticker shock. Find your part number and search it in iBoats.

Ebbtide was sold to a chinese holding company in 2012. give the phone number on their website a call.

if you have a local fiberglass company, most will computer match gel coat colors.

Too bad. I always heard that Ebbtide was a sleeper high quality boat.

Yeah... 31 years old and looks & runs great. Never any major issues except a bellows replacement after 28 years which I did myself with help from folks here. Still original carpeting and cushions. Other than that just an afternoon every summer with the radio and a sixpack for cleaning and maintenance. Garage kept in winter. About 150 hours this year so it's not like we don't use it. Was thinking about a larger boat, but, what the heck, we're kind of attached to this.
