Yes, Stemar, I had one and liked it.<br /><br />I upgraded to get more power and resolution, but for the bux it is hard to beat.<br /><br />I am moving this to Fishing.

Just bought a fisheasy2 and tried it out ice fishing. So far I really like the unit. I won't mount it on my boat for a while since there is 3ft or more of ice on the lakes and rivers around here. That will be the true test. I bought it to replace an old interphase unit on my boat which although works well had only limited resolution and was starting to lose rows of pixels as they burnt out. <br />I checked out a bunch of locators like the Garmin 160 and Humminbird units and since I had a somewhat limited budget the fisheasy2 gave me the most bang for the buck. The resolution is impressive with 240 x 160pixels (greater than the garmin 160) and is considerably less expensive. I believe that the old Eagle ultras didn't even have the amount of pixels this unit has. Eagle/Lowrance is apparently excellent when it comes to their warranty (especially in Canada) compared to the other major brands. If this locator is in your budget I sure you'll be pleased.

I just installed an Eagle FishMark 320 on my boat and the improvement over my 12 year old Eagle is spectacular. I also bought the speed sensor and this unit will tell me speed and distance traveled as well as temperature and battery voltage. Another thing I particularly liked was that you can go to Eagle's website and download a simulator to learn how to use it on your PC. Take a look at www.eaglesonar.com. I'm very pleased with the unit. I also use mine in saltwater.

Stemar<br />Question I would have for you is how deep of Saltwater do you fish. The FishEasy2 is very low power for Saltwater. Just to give you something to compare to, I have a Lowrance X50 which has twice the power of the FishEasy2. X50 3000 watts Peak to Peak, FishEasy2 1500 Watts peak to peak.<br />My unit with a 20 degree transducer and sensitivy turned up as high as posible will only see Rockfish to 150 feet of Saltwater. I got a 8 degree transducer and that is good to see Rockfish down to about 350 feet. Deeper than that only see bottom. Remember my unit has twice the power so expect to see Rockfish only to about 75 feet in salt water. Also My unit a lower frequency of 192 khz instead of 200. For deep Saltwater really want a lot more power and a dual frequency unit. For deep Saltwater a 50khz unit works better. The new Dual frequency Lowrance units have 8000 watts 50 khz/ 4000 watts 200khz and a 12 degree tranducer. Lowrance and Eagle are the same company.<br />Lowrance says my unit good to 1000 feet but as sold really about 150 to see Saltwater Rockfish.

Thanks, Boatist,<br />Ooopssss, This is no good news at all.<br />I usally fish in saltwaters more that 100 feet which means the sonar will not cover that depth.<br />The bad thing is that I allready placed the order for the fishfinder.<br />Thank you all for your replies

Stemar<br />I hope it works ok for you but if you have trouble seeing Bottom fish one thing you can do is get a narrow cone tranducer. I know my 8 degree works much better than the 20 degree. When you get it might want to install a transducer block on the back of the boat then put transducer on that. This way do not have to drill holes in the boat. Please come back and let us know it works.
