Dt 115 Driveshaft Thrust bearing Setup.

Anyone know the clearance or setup procedure for this bearing?

The manual should provide this info. Shims are needed per measurement specs,
Parts and assy drawings at brownspoint.com.

I realize this. I was thinking maybe somebody that has a manual could give me these specs. Just a thought. Thanks for the obvious answer though.

My Seloc manual calls for a shimming gauge, whatever that is.
If I was to set this pinion clearance without the factory manual I would just ensure that there is an amount of play between the pinion gear and the forward gear.
Not very scientific I grant you but the best I can do.
The lowers are shimmed at the factory so providing little has changed the original shim will do the job.
Gears and pinions are very precise, only the casings vary. So if you did not change the casing, changing the gears or pinion should be no problem. The casing and shims go together.

Thanks for the info. Once i got into it i realized the shims were setting gear lash not bearing clearance so ill be allright. The only problem reusing the shim is the previous person left the thrust washer and shims out causing some nice damage but ill get it fixed. Thanks agin.
