Driving boat and it dropped out of gear won’t move. Stalls in reverse

Mercruiser 4.3l lx aloha one sterndrive gen 2

Was driving when all of a sudden it dropped out of gear. Didn’t go back in gear just spun high rpm’s in forward with water circulating through drive. Prop isn’t spinning. When put in reverse it dies down. Checked throttle control on engine. Video is posted of function. Took pictures of prop for prop hub. Prop doesn’t look like anything is wrong.

Refilled drive oil and reservoir about 12 hours ago of boating. Checked reservoir and it was empty. Opened drive fill plug and it didn’t come out. Opened bottom drain plug and there was a decent amount but not enough to spill from top.
Nature, bro, I can vent you what what is Separate accident was rope got stuck in prop and stalled engine. But took boat out after getting rope out for another 8 hours or so.

Take gearcase apart see what is wrong.----This sounds expensive.

Ayuh,..... The bottom plug is the fill plug, the top is the vent,....

How much metal is in the drained oil,..??

Sounds like you smoked the drive,.....

****. I watched a video of them filling up the drive from the top hole and once it comes out stop. Barely any metal that came out plus the magnetic plug. Here’s a video

I hate to say it but I think the upper gears are bad. Scared to say forsure.

99.9999999% of videos on facetube have wrong information. When in doubt, look at the factory service manual

That's back asswords, you always fill from the drain.. generally don't open vids..

Agreed----Always fill gearcases from bottom.----This might be an expensive lesson.
