Had water in drive

Purchased OEM Yamaha prop shaft seals , top seal , shift shaft seal
Never considered doing a pressure test too determine which seal is bad , jut changed them all
New screws and gaskets vent & drain
Pumped 12 PSI , did soapy water test no bubbles Held 12 psi over night

New gear oil
Installed drive , ran engine (drive ) in barrel , 45 minutes
Damn barrel had quite a bit of oil
drive had film of oil
top vent ( not pu vents ) seemed too have a dark film of oil around opening
dropped gear oil and it was milky

As I stated held 12 psi over night , no bubbles soapy test
Did not change O Ring on prop shaft carrier ,

If I had issue it would have not held pressure , ????

THOUGHTS - thanks

Was there water in the oil ?-----Or tiny air bubbles?-------Put oil in glass jar for a few days and see what happens.

Have seen seals hold static pressure yet fail dynamically.

Have seen more than one vacuum assembly pass a pressure, yet fail vacuum test.

Thermal expansion…..running a 250 HP motor in a trash can for 45 minutes isn't doing you any favors.

What do you mean by not doing me any favors ? Thermal Expansion Never indicated, it was 20 or so minutes over two days, Just a moment ago I pumped 12 PSI into vent whole Holding , Understand most water intrusion is the prop shaft , I changed all 3 oil seals & screws with washers, If any of the O Rings were weak PSI would not hold air pressure
Don't get enough water pressure too run on rabbit ears. I was going too order few more seals,. Did not drop drive yet ,

Yes oil was milky but not as bad as when I dropped it before I changed seals Did soap spray , no bubbles top & bottom

45 minutes constantly ? Overheated the water easily. Not good for those seals. Changed all at once. Can not tell if a new one was bad.

The exhaust will be heating the water unless you have a flow of cool water in and hot water out. But still not sure that’s related..
