Well, it has been a couple weeks of being slammed with life happening, so thought it best to start early with the NASCAR weekly race thread. Before we get into this Sunday's race, a congratulations needs to go out to FlaCowboy on his victory last week, outbesting the competition by a sizeable amount. Smokin'! still leads the overall, but he continues to see things tighten up at the top.
As for last week, we are still waiting to see what fines and punishments are levied against Bubba Wallace. He seemed to intentionally wreck Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell was collateral damage. Then he went after Larson in the infield as Larson blocked Wallace's advances and kept turning his back on Wallace in an attempt to de-escalate the situation. Joey Logano was not to happy with Wallace's move.
Okay, on to next week at Miami ... the race is scheduled for a 2:30 ET start and is a 400.5 mile, 267 lap race airing on NBC. FYI, Smoke won the very first Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway in 1999. This is the 23 time NASCAR has raced on this 1.5-mile, banked oval that has an asphalt racing surface with 18-20 degree variable banking, 3 degrees on the front and back stretch.
Friday, Oct 21st is Truck practice at 4PM followed by qualifying at 4:30. Xfinity practice is at 6:05 and qualifying is at 6:35.
Saturday Oct 22nd:
10:05AM Cup Practice
10:50AM Cup Qualifying
1PM Baptist Health Truck Race
4:30PM Contender Boats 300 Xfinity Race
Sunday Oct 23rd:
2:30PM Dixie Vodka 400 Cup Race.
Happy picking and we wait to see the penalties levied against Bubba ...
