Does anybody have a good part number where I can get a divorced choke block off plate so I can convert my 1990 sundancer 454 from that to electric?

Are you talking about the spring type choke that sits on the intake? It don't need a block-off plate. The spring sits in a recess but not through the surface. I may be wrong but a pic would help.

You know that as long as the spring is in good shape & the choke the linkage is clean those chokes can work just fine. I still have one on mine. Only drawback is if the engine warms up very slow it takes much longer to open than the electric. The well type responds directly to engine temp. Just make sure your thermostat doesn’t stick open that’s what usually causes these to take too long to open if the spring is good & linkage is clean.

Do I necessarily have to cover this up or can I just leave it exposed with that choke off? I will be converting it over to an electric choke

i think you do If you take the choke coil out. If you can leave it in place probably not. Im just not sure if you can put the electric choke housing on it if you leave the old choke stove in place.

No I have the old choke housing removed, I just was thinking of leaving it off & installing an electric choke. I just didn’t know if I could leave the face of it exposed.

I'd cap the hole rather than leave it in there. Much cleaner look and won't look redneck.

I don’t care about the look as much as the functionality….also I can’t even find a plate for it

your local hardware store has metal and bolts. all you need is a hacksaw and drill.

Some of those electric choke kits have a bracket that gets bolted to that same pad where the spring would have mounted.

Oh…no kidding… Do you know a part number for a electric shock for one of these Quadra jet carburetor’s?
