Disc Brakes

I need to put brakes on my trailer. I've seen info on the Tie Down Engineering stainless brake kit. Has anyone used this setup? Boat will occasionally be used in saltwater. My dealer says they have seen a number of these brakes warped from overheating since they use only a 1/4" unvented rotor. My suspicion is that the actuators have not been modified for used with disc brakes and that they are maintaining some pressure in the lines, causing the pads to drag. The Tie Down rep said the same thing. They previously recommended puncturing the pressure valve but have seen some of the valves partially heal themselves, so they now recommend removing the valve.
Thanks for the help,
Barry

Re: Disc Brakes

According to Tie Down, they only make the galvanized rotors in the vented type. The stainless rotors are all non-vented.

Barry
