I use diamond jigs mainly for mackeral and bluefish. I use the diamond jig for mackeral with 3 red tubes, find the depth of the mackeral and jig that depth by reeling it up and letting it fall to the depth the mackeral are at. I was fishing for them a month ago in 80 feet of water and the mackeral were at about 30 feet. reel it up and let it fall back to 40 feet and repeat. Usually get many foursomes and definately lots of threes. And for blues I usually find them deep and just jig em up with some clam on the jigs hook.
