de carbon question

Im going to attempt to free up my rings, and see if the carbon removal makes any differnece at all, my question is, should I do it BEFORE I replace the exhaust port plate gasket?<br /><br />ive read on here that the stuff might be harmful to seals and such, so im wondering if I should try this before I struggle with my last known leak?

Hi Ozark,<br />I would do it before the gasket replacement. Then you can check to see if it helped with a visual inspection.<br /><br />corm
