It even got worse. The insurance company said that the boat wasn't covered because it wasn't in the water and some rider wasn't on the policy. Also since the boat wasn't covered the van couldn't be fixed either because it was the same as being hit by an uninsured motorist. We said "But we have insurance for uninsured motorists!" They said "Yes but you can't be the uninsured motorist!"<br /><br />So, we had insurance on the boat and the van but nothing got paid! Call your insurance company people and run this senerio past them. You might get a surprise yourself.

Damn insurance companies. Might want to get a second opinion.<br /><br />I don't know of any reason why they make two balls almost the same size except for the fact the *******s can sell twice as many that way.<br />1 7/8" ball hitches need to be done away with.

We had a lawyer look at it and it is air tight! No money for us. You are absolutely right, the 1 7/8 " ball needs to be done away with. All it does is cause problems like this.

The hooks straightened right out and turned the boat loose. They weren't big enough chains but that is what the boat came with and it just didn't seem to be that big of a problem at the time. Hehe, hindsight sure is 20/20 isn't it?

It was probably the only Starcraft on earth with a flybridge though and all that homemade stuff was ruined. I don't think the flybridge was going to work well anyhow but we will never know!<br /><br />Is your brother paying the damages?
Ya sure! Hehe. Not really but he fabricated the flybridge so all his work went down the tube also.

I was quite confused with all this new age insurance myself. Back in the old days if you bought insurance the thing was insured.
