Hi Guys,
I have a 1979 AMC crestliner Cursader, Fiberglass hull.. Its rated HP is 100HP, and last year rebuilt an inline 6 115HP mariner(Merc). Now my issue is when I did the repower, and drilled the new holes, the plywood core seemed wet as i Drilled it.. and now i'm concerned that I have a rotten Transom on my hands?? There are no cracks in the fiberglass of the transom, but now I'm concerned that if I don't reinforce the transom with an aluminum or Stainless plate, the whole transom will fail on me.
So my question is, should I reinforce? and if i DO, what should i use? and where?
Thanks Guys!
