Hi

I started my 33hp Johnson 1967 for the first fime today in a barrel , it started first time with loads of water coming out of the " pee hole " and the engine sounded and run great .

When i stoped it after about 5 mins , There was a creamy oily scum floating on top of the barrel , just covering the top layer of water . However this started to fade and went away after 1/2 an hour or so when the engine was not running ?

Any info would be great and thank you !

It's usually air bubbles mixed with unburned exhaust.

Did you check your lower unit lube?
