Bassman, you can't. I was given the honor and privelage to pilot of fountain out of Sanibel Pass, into the gilf onnce. It was scarey,to say the least. With the bow up, we were totally blind!<br />Even at plane, we had60degrees dead ahead, 300yards-out BLIND SPOT! Absurd! But a lot of fun.<br />If I ever found myself fortunate enough to be able to afford a cigarette boat, I'b actually buy a cabin cruiser,flats rig ,and a tripple slip close to the Gulp-o-Mehico.<br />Those big-bow bombers just aren't practical for anything but speed and open water.

Just today I saw something similar. A father and son were launching their boat with the son in the boat. He was maybe 10 yrs old. As the father went to park the truck the son was showing out for the crowd. When the father made it to the dock the son came in a little too fast and rammed the dock head on. I could hear all sorts of gear in the boat being thrown around. The prop on the trolling motor was in several pieces and the father was about to go to pieces. You could see him just about to reach the boiling point.<br /><br />I felt sorry for the kid.

What really cracks me up in the photo is the fact that someone actually tied the boat off to the post.

thanks 12footer I really hadn't thought of that. Of course i have never been that fast in a boat so its not something i am familiar with, but I am learning. I get a little uneasy going faster than a 9.9 evinrude on a 14 foot jon boat can push me. lol thanks guys for all the laughs, keep em coming
