Couldn't go boating, so I decide to swim instead

Thought I'd share my weekend experience.

My new boat is delayed 3 weeks from the factory and I recently sold my current boat to a close friend. Going thru withdrawal I needed some sort of fix near the water.

So, on Sat, we were at his dock installing some dock guards. Once that was done we were talking about how to attach the mooring lines. My suggestion was to get a few mooring rings to install along the sides to tie ropes to that he could leave attached, and when docking he could simply pull into the slip, fasten the ropes and be done in seconds.

To show him what I meant, I walked a few slips over. When I reached over to show him, the wood on the edge of the dock where I was standing was good and wet (and yes, slippery) As quick as gopher slipping into his hole, I was up to my neck in the water.

I should've been more attentive but I guess that's why they call it a SLIP :p

The water was a balmy low 50s so I didn't stay in their long before I was headed home for a warm shower and dry clothes.

The only injuries sustained was a bruised ego and a $500 Blackberry which apparently isn't waterproof :D:D

Most of our peak season swimming in the lake, the water temp is between 70-76 degrees. I'll gladly swim in 72 degree water...
