I have a 3.0L merc (SN# 0L046463) that I currently have the MR43LTS plugs in it, which is whats listed on the spark arrestor. After reading some post I'm not sure if these are the right ones. I do believe that my motor is a 3.0 and not a 3.0LX. Can someone verify if I do have a LX and if the plugs I have are correct.

Re: Correct Spark Plug?

It's very simple to check. Pull a spark plug out of the head and measure the threads in head. Are they long like the MR43LTS plugs you have? or are they a lot shorter?

Did some further checking. This is why people get into trouble by just reading posts and worrying about what they read. You do have a 3.0L not an LX, and yes you use the MR43LTS plugs. You also have a 98 engine and all 3.0's used that plug.
The 3.0L and the 3.0LX were 97 and earlier engines, so what you was reading had nothing to do with your 98 model.
