Cooling Question

Still just learning the ins and outs of this I/O thing---------<br /><br />4.3L Mercruiser (1997) Raw water system.<br />After running on muffs long enough for engine to warm up and thermostat open, one side has pretty warm water coming out and the other cool.<br />Should both sides be cool, or both sides warm??? <br />Temp gauge stays constant @ 170 deg.
