I couldn't get my motor to fire so I checked everything at the motor and all looked good.I then checked the control box and found that every wire in it was naked from old age,if you touched them they fell apart from corroison.The cable is in no better shape,I hoped I could strip it back and rewire but it looks impossible.can you get a new cable for a 1973 mercury 50hp and how bad will the cost be.
